Sensitives

A very small percentage of the population of Adylheim are particularly sensitive to changes in the mood of Adylheim and may see apparitions and portents that others do not, these people are called Sensitives and this article is about them.

Introduction

The term Sensitives is something of a catch all term, referring to those among the normal populace that somehow have senses beyond the norm. As a result of this, they may perceive the dreams of others, see the recently deceased or other, stranger, things.

Sekkumaya

This article deals with Sekkumaya, a spiritualistic philosophy that is rather obscure in comparison with the rest of the religious system of Adylheim. It is mainly practiced in the southern fiefdoms, though its monastaries are scattered all throughout the country.

Cult of Quinnas

Worship from the masses is few and far between, Quinnas does not hold the same stigma as the darker gods, such as Maia or Charn who's domains are considered by many to be evil. In fact many people would openly worship Quinnas if he was but a single aspect of luck. People who have asked for his aid have often found that all their luck has increased, both good and bad, something that usually proves fatal, the last thing you want is to discover that your chances of being stabbed decreases at the same time as your ability to attract arrows increases.

The wyrd is a feeling of knowing where one should be at a given time. It is a rare phenomenon, rarely occurring among the population of Adylheim. However, the general opinion is that when it does occur it should be heeded. Similar, but not appearing to be related to the wyrd is a phenomenon known as the wyrdlings, wherein a select group of individuals seem to interact more than chance might seem to allow.

The wyrd is known under many names many names: fatestrings, fate, providence, the gitchy, the straining, destiny and several more besides. The wyrd generally the most commonly used name throughout Adylheim. The wyrdlings however, are less commonly mentioned, yet they have still managed to attract several names, foremost among which may be the fated. The less known are such names as the fatelings, the chosen ones, the compatriots and many others more esoteric. A wyrdling is generally taken to mean both the group in which a person might find himself and the group itself, dependent on the specific context.

Extent

Every individual in Adylheim has the potential to get the wyrd. It is not restricted to any race, gender or person. Nevertheless, the wyrd is a rare occurrence. While some may be more sensitive to it than others, the ones who have seen it are rare individuals for the most part.

All across Adylheim there exists a rich variety of sites both holy and mystical, some of which are sites of pilgrimage and relics, others places to be shunned and avoided for fear of attracting the notice of someone you should never cross.
