- Aztersil - The World of Aztersil is a play-by-post game set in an original fantasy world filled with magic and wonder. Players can choose to create characters from many unique races and explore exotic locations. In addition to a vibrant game world, Aztersil possesses a friendly and creative community.
- Chronicles of Indur - An original medieval fantasy setting taking place on a continent named Indur, the plot revolves around the devastating effects of a desert caused by the land inexplicably dying, and the mysterious appearance of beings from other worlds called Realm Drifters. The last bastion of civilization can now only be found in city-states as people struggle to simply survive, many perishing from starvation, disease, or the elements themselves. The governments have become greedy and corrupted, and slowly but surely, the population stirs with social unrest.
- DaeLuin - DaeLuin is an open role playing forum for play-by-post medieval & fantasy RPGs. It has now been open for several years and has over 460,000 posts, making it one of the biggest play-by-post fantasy games on the internet.
- Empyrean Fates - Empyrean Fates is a unique post-apocalyptic play-by-post set in a fantastical and completely original universe. Focus is primarily on the members' writing and character development, so RP newbs are welcome, as long as you're dedicated to good literature in an ever-expanding, collaborative setting. Themes are often dark and grim, and the setting allows for any number of ideas ranging from steampunk to high fantasy to deep science fiction to gothic horror.
- Give Up Already - Give Up Already is a series of discussion forums covering numerous topics, but they also host several different roleplaying games, from fantasy to futuristic. The have a large player base that ensures there will always be someone to roleplay with.
- Hidden Realms - Hidden Realms is an online writing community dedicated to a play-by-post, free form, role playing game set in the medieval fantasy world of Eldanar. Members are encouraged to help contribute to the game world as well as roleplay in it.
- Remnants of the Earth - A sci-fi fantasy game with a dystopian setting. It's over 2 years old and going strong!
- RPG Resource Masters - A site dedicated to the discussion and participation in non-D20 based roleplaying systems. The site hosts a number of resources, as well as a discussion forum, and various play-by-post games using a variety of established and homebrew systems.
- Thar Shaddin - Thar Shaddin is a forum based play-by-post (pbp) roleplaying game that takes place in an isolated region of the medieval fantasy world of Pal Tahrenor. It is a dreary, protective place ruled by an oppressive government bent on defending itself from a world worth hiding from. The game is freeform, diceless, and made for writers of intermediate to advanced skill.

- Distant Fantasies - An RPG link database that has several different sections for different sorts of RPGs. The site also hosts reviews of submitted links and is a great resource for finding new games to participate in.
- GameWyrd - GameWyrd is a site that boasts RPG resources and more. Amongst their features is a links directory, newsletter, interactive stories, and various other bits and pieces to keep roleplayers amused.
- Obsessive Webdirectory - This is a links directory that covers many and all topics, however they also have an extensive boards sections which covers a lot of play by post RPGs. Other sections may also be of interest to roleplayers.
- RPG Gateway - Effie's RPG Library is a fount of information for and about pen and paper role playing games. Built in 1995 as a searchable index of the D&D rules, Effie now offers searchable product databases, an online directory and personal wish list feature across several different types of items.
- My Forum Directory - A directory of all kinds of forums located around the internet. They currently have over 300 different categories are well as over 1,500 different forum links in total.
